Terms & Conditions

1. Scope of Services

TrustReport provides homeowner protection services including, but not limited to:

- Pre-construction information reports

- Quote review and contractor assessment

- Construction contract drafting and advice

- QHSE reports during construction

- Snagging and final inspection reports

All services are advisory and non-legally binding unless otherwise agreed in writing.

2. Service Delivery

- Reports are delivered electronically via email in PDF format unless otherwise requested.

- Site visits are conducted in accordance with scheduled appointments and are subject to weather and accessibility.

- Remote services (e.g., quote reviews, contract advice) will be carried out via email or video consultation.

3. Fees and Payment

- All fees are agreed upon prior to commencement of service.

- Payment is due upon receipt of invoice unless otherwise agreed in writing.

- Invoices not settled within 14 days may incur a late payment charge of 5% of the outstanding amount.

4. Cancellations and Refunds

- Site visits cancelled with less than 48 hours' notice may be subject to a cancellation fee of £50.

- Refunds are issued at the discretion of TrustReport and only where service has not yet commenced or substantial work has not been completed.

5. Client Responsibilities

- Clients must ensure that access to the property/site is safe, legal, and permitted at the time of any inspection.

- All requested documents (e.g., quotes, plans, correspondence) should be provided in a timely manner to avoid delays.

- TrustReport accepts no liability for delays or inaccuracies caused by the withholding or misrepresentation of information.

- The client must hire competent and suitable third-party contractors to undertake specific construction tasks. (e.g. qualified electricians for electrical work). TrustReport will not be held liable for recommended works that have been completed by unsuitable or incompetent third-party contractors.

- Clients must manage, organise, and supervise day-to-day construction activities or appoint a manager to do so. TrustReport will not manage, organise, or supervise construction activities.

6. Limitations of Liability

- TrustReport provides advisory services only and does not accept liability for the performance of third-party contractors.

- Recommendations are based on professional experience, industry standards, and manufacturer guidelines, but the client retains responsibility for their implementation. 

- TrustReport will not be held liable for financial loss, injury, project delays, or defects arising from third-party work.

- Some documentation provides a record of defects and suggested remediation advice from TrustReport. TrustReport accepts no liability for damage, defect, injury, project delay, or financial loss arising from failure to follow advice and guidance. 

- Third party contractors are responsible for ensuring their competence to undertake any construction work.

- TrustReport is not a chartered surveyor service.

- TrustReport will not instruct or direct third-party contractors. Recommendations, advice, and guidance will be given only.

- TrustReport does not recommend third-party contractors. TrustReport will offer guidance and advice based on quotations, enabling clients to select a third-party contractor themselves.

7. Insurance

TrustReport maintains appropriate professional indemnity and public liability insurance. Copies of certificates are available upon request.

8. Confidentiality

All client information is treated as confidential and will not be shared without express permission, except where required by law.

9. Amendments

TrustReport reserves the right to update or amend these Terms & Conditions at any time. The latest version will always be available on our website or upon request.

10. Jurisdiction

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
